Written by St. Patrick in 377 A.D.

I arise today, Through God’s strength to pilot me;
God’s might to uphold me, God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me, God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me, God’s hand to guard me,
God’s way to lie before me, God’s shield to protect me,
God’s hosts to save me from snares of the devil,
From temptations of vices,
From every one who desires me ill,
Afar and anear, Alone or in a multitude.

Almighty God, Creator of all things, we place our request for world peace into Your hands. Continue to be our refuge and our strength as we undertake this challenge. Bless with Your divine protection our servicemen and women. Let their faith and trust in You never weaken. Bring them safely home to their loved ones. Let Your heavenly wisdom direct our world leaders to seek peace. Through their actions, may harmony and justice be secured. We pray for people of all nations. Fill their hearts with the desire to ensure justice and equality for all. We ask that You watch over those exposed to the horrors of war. Let Your compassion shine on all who dwell in these war torn areas. Heavenly Father, let peace reign throughout the world. Amen.

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully, for God loves a cheerful giver and makes every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.

“Almighty God, Who has given us this good
land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that
we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of
Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land
with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure
manners. Save us from violence, discord, and
confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every
evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one
united people the multitude brought hither out of
many kindreds and tongues.
Endow with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in
Thy Name we entrust the authority of government,
that there may be justice and peace at home, and that
through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth
Thy praise among the nations of the earth.
In time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness,
and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee
to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our
Lord, Amen.”

Give Me Good Digestion, Lord,
And Also Something To Digest;
Give Me A Healthy Body, Lord,
With Sense To Keep It At Its Best.
Give Me A Healthy Mind, Good Lord,
To Keep The Good And Pure In Sight;
Which, Seeing Sin, Is Not Appalled,
But Finds A Way To Set It Right.
Give Me A Mind That Is Not Bored,
That Does Not Whimper, Whine Or Sigh;
Don't Let Me Worry Overmuch
About The Fussy Thing Called "I".
Give Me A Sense Of Humor, Lord,
Give Me The Grace To See A Joke;
To Get Some Happiness From Life,
And Pass It On To Other Folk.

Born amid the first flames of America's fight for freedom, I am the symbol of a country that has grown from a tiny group of thirteen colonies to a united nation of fifty sovereign states. Planted firmly on the high pinnacle of American Faith my gently fluttering folds have proved an inspiration to untold millions here and abroad. Men and women have followed me into battle with unwavering courage. They look at me as a symbol of national unity. They have prayed and sacrificed that their fellow citizens might continue to enjoy the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, which have been granted to every American as the heritage of free men and women as the Almighty intended. So long as men love liberty more than life itself; so long as the principles of truth, justice and charity for all, remains deeply rooted in human hearts, I shall continue to be the enduring beacon of the United States of America. It is our sacred duty to protect this great nation from those from without that dare to threaten it.
